Microsoft 365 Business

Microsoft have released a new Office 365 offering into preview named “Microsoft 365 Business” which is expected to go into production at the end of 2017. As many customers have been asking me about this new product set, I thought I would write a quick post to give you an overview.

What is Microsoft 365 Business and why have Microsoft felt the need to introduce this offering?

One thing we have found when working with a number of our SME customers is that the ability to be productive while remaining secure is a key priority for senior management. While SMEs long for enterprise grade features, they are often limited by budgets and other priorities. Partners similar to Yobah gave this feedback to Microsoft, which they have taken on board.

This is where Microsoft 365 Business comes into play.

So what does it bring to the table?

Microsoft 365 Business brings together three key technologies; Office 365, Windows 10 and Enterprise Mobility Suite. These three key products help meet the needs SMEs by giving end users the tools to be productive, while staying secure.

For productivity: Microsoft 365 Business includes fully installed and web versions of Office apps, 1TB file storage and sharing, 50GB mailbox, Microsoft Teams for chat based WorkSpace and online meetings (IM, audio and HD video), Outlook Customer Manager, MileIQ. Windows 10

For security: Enhanced Mobile Device Management, secure document access, Windows Bitlocker, Windows Defender.
