January saw the announcement that Microsoft will offer ‘Teams’ as a stand online product for the first time, specifically designed for Small-Midsize Businesses or SMEs.
The product called Teams Essentials offers businesses a professional and affordable meetings solution at a competitively priced $4 USD or £3 per person per month, coming up as a much more cost-effective solution to competitor platforms such as Zoom Professional or Google Meet.
Teams Essentials offers SME businesses unlimited group meetings for up to 30 hours, meetings with up to 300 people and 10GB of cloud storage per user and also draws on the existing capabilities available in the free version of Teams to help businesses meet their communication needs. What’s more users are not required to sign up or go through any installation process to participate in meetings and the product also offers Google Calendar Integration. alongside professional meeting tools and capabilities like meeting lobby, virtual backgrounds and group chat.
